"Last week, I asked for help on LinkedIn to take in a Ukrainian family in Poland.
I didn't have luck, so this week I went to the border of Ukraine.
I found Irina, Lina, and two-year-old Artem at a camp in Hrubieszow.
Looking at them, you wouldn't be able to tell that just completed a trek to the Polish border that included a multi-day walk in -1 Celsius.
They lost everything except for their smile, some of the sweetest and kindest people I've met. Inspirational in every way.
Last night, after getting supplies for everyone and toys for Artem, we visited a home of a polish family for pizza and wine. A group of total strangers who welcomed us in like old friends.
In the depth of hell, and that's precisely what this situation is, it is moving to find tenderness and compassion among people still.
Thank you to the people of Poland.
Please keep fighting for #ukraine."
If anyone wants to help, you can donate to the foundation.
They carry out culinary and barista classes, animations, board games, woodshop, handicrafts, meditation, Polish and English classes, as well as helping with registration for jobs. The goal is to help with mental help by providing a community for Ukrainians.
Over 50 attendees headed over to Carolines to continue the FIESTA party. It was beautiful sight to see so many people wanting to continue conversations and connecting.
Our third FIESTA CoWorking, lead by Jen Houston on March 22nd, was quite the spread!
We met at Prim and Proper, located in the NeighborHood Goods store off Congress St, and it was amazing getting work done together.
Join us next month to get stuff done!
As a reminder, FIESTA welcomes and connects founders, entrepreneurs, and Austin newcomers to those serving the startup community (event organizers, helpful networking opportunities, accelerators, service providers, etc.) and making resources accessible and transparent via the FIESTA website.
Special thanks to Eric Lee for putting this newsletter together!
